Burt and I have been very busy business-wise, so we decided to take a mini-break and tour the wonderful fall color before it’s short-lived glory passes for yet another year. So of course it rained for the couple days we had. Undaunted, we traversed forward and enjoyed the bright colors with the blue-gray backdrop of ominous clouds.
We left Benzie Co., and wound our way around Leelanau Co., picked up Carol’s paintings from a show at the Glen Arbor Art Association, and headed toward Northport.
We visited a couple of art galleries that were still open, and walked around the post-season quiet town.
In this day and age, business always finds you………
This reminder of the season was displayed next to one of the gallery windows.
We headed toward Elk Rapids next, and stopped to take some more pix along the way.
We stopped at Twisted Fish gallery, but there was a note on the door that they would return later. Never mind, I took pictures of some of the sculptures.
We drove down between the lakes, and around the south end of Torch Lake.
We ended up staying in Bellaire at a local inn right on the river.
Our room overlooked the river from several windows.
We enjoyed a relaxing afternoon at Short’s Brewery, and then appetizers at Lulu’s Bistro. We headed home to our county, and decided our colors were amazing, too! And the sun came out the next day while I was showing houses. I stopped in the middle of Mick Rd. to take this shot. Hope you enjoyed the northern Michigan light show! Julie

Beautiful, beautiful pictures! The dark skies brought a reward for us after all. The colors are wonderful everywhere. Thanks for the gorgeous shots. Carol
